My wife and I will be heading to Rome & Florence for about 10 days in June. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions regarding B&B-type inns/hotels or rental units. I have seen some intriguing choices on VRBO - but first-hand references are better.

Thanks.

I know some people that have used airbnb.com and have had good luck with the places they rented. I haven't used them myself, it is a popular site for European rentals.

I did stay in the Hotel Pantheon in Rome for one night. It was very nice and in a great location. It was recommended by another TTOLer.
