We are traveling to St Martin in a couple weeks. Does anyone know if the entry card is still paused while they work out the kinks?
The website doesn't even seem to allow for entering information.

Thanks!

Multiple people here have said they have done it very recently, including some who arrived this week. What exactly is the issue you are having?

The official site said you don't need a visa if you're a US National. What's this all about?

Randy and Wendy, you are supposed to fill it out, and there is a benefit - it should make life easier and quicker when you arrive.

I filled out mine last night successfully for a trip in early May and I received the email immediately after I submitted it. The email did end up in the spam folder.

It's not a visa. It's an entry form from the St Maarten government you fill out at www.entry.sx/ It's the online equivalent of the little cards that they used to hand out on planes and fill out before you arrived.

The website opens but it is not working for me either. When trying to fill out the individual form under Names & Aliases it does not have a text box or a button to select. It just has Q10.txt so a name can't be entered. It does have a button to add nationality, but when I select that, the button changes to red REMOVE. Contacts & Address does not have a button either, just Q70.txt

Thanks everyone for the replies. I just tried again and the website won't let me enter any info.

I'll keep trying. I still have a couple weeks

It appears that they are trying to "fix" it again and have broken it again. I was going to say that comes from doing a contract with "websites R us", but apparently there actually IS such a company!! rofl .

There must be a problem, imagine that! I just tried and it will not allow one to enter "Nationality" and "Country" as SXMScubaman indicated.

I was able to register last Sat morning and sent the following to our friends based on my experience.

"I just completed the SXM registration process. Pretty simple with a few tips: 1). You need to have you passport info. 2) Need arrival flight # and arrival and departure dates. 4). Maybe because I was using a MAC, when I selected the dates it always showed the prior date? When I selected a second time it worked fine. 5). When you enter phone # you need to use the following format. +1XXXXXXXXXX. Note when you scroll to our birth year, try not to get a cramp, it’s A LOT of scrolling."

Sharing here in hope it might help others.

FYI Confirmation email was received on Monday. (2 days later)

I started the endless scroll for the birth date than realized if you click on the year or day shown it brings up a menu you can easy pick the year and day from..

Ok, I arrived this past Wednesday April 16th and I did fill out the form months ago. It was easy back then and I got a reply as well and it did go to Spam. So I am off the plane, carry on luggage in hand and get in line for the Kisok's. I noticed that some people were hunting and pecking in information on the keyboards and it was taking them a while. However some were breezing through and told the assistant I have filled out the form prior. She stated that everyone must scan their passport and have their picture taken for id and of course entry. So I did Scan the passport and answered a few simple questions electronically, stood for my passport no glasses or hat and got a green light to go,(NO Typing) since I filled out the form. Then to the next station and stay behind the yellow taped line or get scolded like I did. So this requires pasport in hand and another picture and the gates open to exit the airport.
So fill out the form to avoid a delay.
Jim

Is there now a separate line for those that filled it out beforehand or are all grouped into the same line?

I'm sorry...I tried. I used the full editor and copied and pasted the link. In any event, what it says is that the form is down, and they are working on getting it back up.

From what I experienced we were all sent to the same line, no separation. However, I will say there were really no directions.

We did the form last week and it seemed to have worked. However, the date selection was messed up, we had to correct the date manually for each input.

It's SUPPOSED to be each person does their own form, but I guess some have been able to do a group registration. Supposedly the group thing is supposed to be for tour groups, etc.

Probably all you need but safe to print it out just to have it. I seem to print everything just because but that's just me.

As I understand it, there will be no further communication beyond the initial confirmation email.

There have been reports of gate agents at US departure airports (erroneously) demanding passengers headed to SXM show proof of completion of the online registration. And since the only proof is a print-out of the email confirmation, that's what people have been presenting at the departure gate (when asked).

Again, not necessary but good to have.

I filled it out online but have yet to get a return email. When they ask the $10000 question, do they want to know if you have that much with you? Or do you have access to that amount?

moi--your reply probably went to your spam filter. Did you check that?

As far as $10,000, the question probably would be whether you would be carrying that much with you.

Let’s go back in time with the paper form and a pen……high tech for nothing……..if they want to know who has arrived or departed the island they could get manifest dumps from the airlines……

The CONCEPT might be OK, if the execution wasn't so awful. This is not rocket science, but these bozos who created the site make it seem so.

When you fly international into any US airport ICE already has, and has processed, the flight manifest. The manifest is not useful (to US or SXM) for much more than identifying information, and for logging entry/departure. It’s only meaningful if the ability to process, store, and report on the information exists.

The Sxmentry system appears to be a nice-to-have wish-list item. It’s a great concept - collect passenger information in advance, allow the passenger to fast-lane with a passport scan and a biometric check, and get them to Baggage Claim in just a few minutes. It’s not working that way.

If it was designed correctly, implemented correctly, and operated/maintained correctly, then it would be a top-tier if not world-class system. Sadly, it is not. It’s mostly an expensive PITA.

That would go with most things associated with the airport and rebuild since Irma.

Forms are no longer given out. There is a departure fee, but it is almost always built into your fare when you purchase your ticket.

Just checked in to my flight to Miami (and then on to St. Maarten tomorrow). Flight is with American. They did ask if I had completed the online entry form and then requested to see the paperwork (which I had). Don't know what would have happened had I said no.

Thanks for the information. We are flying American through Miami next week.
I am not printing any entry documents out.

If asked if we filled out the forms, I’ll answer yes and show them the emails received from Sint Maarten Entry Form.

OK. Sounds like you checked-in in-person. I (and probably most people) check-in online. I'll print the email confirm and bring it with me when I go wheels-up next week.

I actually checked in online AND at the counter. Since we have an overnight stay, I wanted to make sure our checked bags were routed all the way to SXM so we didn't have to pick them up in Miami and then recheck tomorrow.

I your connection is over 12 hours they won't check through to SXM. At least that is what AA enforces.

We have completed the online form and received the confirmation email. Printed the page showing IBP number, PP number, arrival date, and birth date. Saved formed to iPhones for more peace of mind.
We arrive Monday so I think we have it covered.

I filled ours out 2 1/2 weeks before our arrival with no problem. Got the email reply within minutes and had no problems when we arrived two days ago.

Not last November. We overnighted in Charlotte and checked a bag through with no issues.

Just returned from St Martin. I filled out all the entry stuff online and printed the info but nobody ever asked for it upon entry. It was all passport and facial recognition. The process was very fast.

That's the way it's supposed to work for everyone but they violate that plan by putting those that haven't filled it out in the kiosk line

There's really no need to print anything. The purpose of the online registration is to match your information with your passport at the entry kiosks. When it works properly, it's great! Unfortunately, there are still bugs and it doesn't always work the way it should.

I just checked into AA for our redeye tonight and nothing was said about filling out or having proof of filling it out as I figured knowing what I know from being informed on various sites.

Thanks Carol and JD. I'll put my best foot forward. It'll be a long trek but always worth it with wheels down at 1:20 in SXM.

Have a great time, Scuba. The island is nice and green, and the weather has been great.

We arrived this past Monday on American out of Miami and the arrival was a piece of cake. No jetway and no bus to take. The kiosk area was a little busy, but we managed to get through in about 15 minutes. There wasn’t a designated kiosk for those of us who filled out the form. No complaints here, though.

For those of you who have wondered: A printed Entry Form was not needed.

Enjoy your island time Scuba!! Looking forward to your observations. And a heads up, Billy Folly Road is not any better than the last time you drove on it.

Thanks. BF is one big speed bump. BTW I just sold that bottom floor July unit at Flamingo that you stayed in a few years back.
