We flew in yesterday around 2:00 p.m. It was raining lightly and we did not get a jet bridge. We weren't allowed to deplane immediately....supposedly because of the rain. But about 15 minutes later the doors were opened and deplaning began in the front and back. There were several planes in so lines at the arrival hall were fairly long. Movement through the kiosks was slow as most people were having to fill out the entry information. We asked if there was a line for those who had completed the entry form online. They said no. So we were stuck in the slow lines. About 30 minutes later we got to the kiosks and things proceeded smoothly from there. Our bags were waiting when we got to baggage claim. It's a shame they don't have a separate line for those who have completed the entry form online. It sure would speed up the process. But I guess that's too simple a solution.

Looks to be the St Maarten way of doing things that could be simpler.

Carib -

For deplaning, did you have stairs or a ramp?

The front had stairs. Not sure about the back.

Enjoy.

The entry form is a cluster, just like most of the rest of the airport situation since Irma. Good intentions, bad implementation.

ALL the kiosks are supposed to be for those that have filled out the form online (thus the signs above them stating that fact) ..but...there are so many that have no clue about the form that they divert a bunch to the kiosks because manned passport control gets overwhelmed

Interesting.......the manned passport control had virtually no one going through. They were sending everyone to the kiosks.

Last October, PJIA had plenty of staff AND volunteers manning the Scanners. Not now, as Louise told you guys, there was NO ONE to assist us with the problem with the new "B&W" passports!! We went from being one of the first people to the very back of the lines through immigration and then, one agent went on brake, leaving two people for a full plane to be checked in!!! SMH!!! Forty minutes!!! Sadly there is nothing we can do about the horrible service!!!

Sand Gravity, got to love it!

David--sorry, what is the problem with new passports? (And I agree, they are WEIRD...)
