Just back again after another week on Anegada. This time it was exciting because we got to stay the full time in the house we've been involved in building on Loblolly Bay --- and it's great. I don't mean to "sell" here, but it is very exciting!! The house (called Lavenda Breeze) came out great and we hated leaving to come back to cold and snow. I guess that soon it will be available for rent and I posted a few pictures on my Anegada website at www.hvinet.com/anegada

Things on Anegada are wonderful. The weather was exceptionally nice this week, somewhat still, actually. A few squally moments right after New Years and then a big high just drifted over and made for pleasant weather. Highs in the low 80's by day. Mid-70's at night.

Food news: Cheryl from Flash of Beauty made some wonderful boneless chicken rotis for us one night. Great! It's nice to see some good cooking happening out there.

We had dinner one night at Whispering Pines which has opened up this season, looking very freshly painted. Belto (the owner) is building two one-bedroom cabins on the property of the restaurant. One looks near completion.

And one dinner and breakfast at Anegada Reef Hotel which is, as usual, the hub of evening social activity and dependable for an excellent meal.

Anegada seems to be enjoying a good season so far. The restaurants and places to stay seem busy (for Anegada), but the beaches still are wide open and the water wonderful.

Well, there is lots of personal and folksy news about different people on the island (births, returns, even tragedy). Don't know if that's of interest to anyone, so I won't include it now, unless there is demand for it. Let me know. Also, there's some business/building news which I could include. Interest in visiting Anegada is growing and the people are gearing up to accommodate them. But I don't want to bore everyone with the ins and out of it, unless invited to do so here.

I'm always happy to try to answer specific Anegada questions.

George
