Looking at a connection back to US from EIS through SJU. How much time is needed to clear customs in SJU (have Global Entry)? Walk time from terminal D to B? and lastly Cape Air vs Silver?
Thanks

Allow 90 minutes but usually it’s quicker. No checked bags I would go with an hour. CapeAir all day over every other option.

Depends on day and time...it is a long walk and we never check bags so it is easier. Cape Air is typically the most expensive but the most reliable and if we dont charter Island Birds we use them. we used to use Silver but their recent bankruptcy has made them ore unreliable.
Dont forget you need FDA inspection done with sticker and make sure it stays on your bag

The other thing to consider a potential delay in your Cape Air / Silver flight - which has happened to us several times when leaving Beef Island. Personally, I would want a little more time just in case if there is an option.

We just returned on Saturday and used Caribbean Airlines for our out and back flights between SJU and EIS. This was our first time using them so please take this under advisement and consider more frequent travelers. That said, our experience was excellent. We did check bags each way and we allowed extra time on both legs.

For clarity, Caribbean Airlines and InterCaribbean are two different airlines. We're planning to use the first for a trip to Barbados (direct flight from Tortola); we avoid the latter.

Last trip thru SJU in February - from the curb (flew Island Birds) thru USDA inspection, checked bags, TSA (via Clear) took us 25 minutes on a Saturday. I would want a 2 hour cushion if the flights aren't on the same ticket
