Their webcam has been off line for awhile now, when I checked this morning it's back up and running (for now). I don't know how to provide a link but if you Google D's Beach Bar you will find the website. The strange thing is the website is still called "dinghysbeachbar.com". It gives a good view of what's going on at that end of Simpson Bay. Right now there are big piles of sargassum and a big yellow front end loader removing it. Their airport cam is also back up and running.
View from BSV #8 on 5/19 and from 8.30 am 5/28. Both beautiful. Mother Nature is amazing. BSV crew worked diligently as always. Government stepped in to do a massive clean up job on the D's Beach corner all the way up to Villla #3 or so.
Hi Carol. None at all. Not even on the horizon. From 5 ft tall "drifts" to nothing. Amazing. All we did the first couple days was walked down to the middle of the bay and it was crystal clear. This is truly paradise.
Whale Tail--I saw that they had posted somewhere that they were closed because of the seaweed. I didn't realize they didn't open until 10:30. I guess they don't serve breakfast?
Yes they were closed because of the sargassum, but they were serving customers yesterday. We have had their Sunday Brunch there which starts at 10am and I had my eggs bacon and homefries with a Bloody Mary. But I have to say the Bloody Mary at SMYC is much better.
We ate there the first day they opened back up (Tuesday). Taco Tuesday. Everything was great !! Service and food were top notch. Don't worry about the smell, wasn't noticeable.
"Don't worry about the smell, wasn't noticeable." Dozer is still trying to remove the decomposing in the hot sun stack. Can't tell me that doesn't stink.
