OK, so I have totally screwed up about keeping up with a real trip report, so will just post stuff in a random fashion from now on.

To start with, we are HERE. There is no place on earth I love more than Beachside Villas. I have everything I need here and many days, I could care less whether we leave or not. But eventually, we do run out of wine. smile We have been coming here since, I don't know, maybe 2005? Regardless, I love it here. For a bunch of reasons.

A picture of Saba from here is my screensaver on all my computers. We saw her the first couple of days, but she has taken a leave of absence lately. Hopefully she will return before we go home.

The grounds are beautiful.

The beach has been magnificently clean since we arrived. One day, the workers here did rake a bit, but I think that maybe it was just to level out the sand. Even down toward D's beach bar, there has basically been no seaweed. The weather has been good, but the Sahara dust has come up in force the past couple of days. Before today, one small shower on Sunday, right after a bunch of planes landed at Juliana. Today, we have had a few rounds of showers, but we have no place to go anyway. I'm perfectly happy here, regardless of the weather..

As is our norm, we brought along with us a very small cooler packed with meats, which fits in our carry on bag. So far we have enjoyed some burgers

[Linked Image]

, grilled chicken breast sandwiches with bacon and home made potato salad (just for Pat!! smile

[Linked Image]

, ham and cheese omelettes for breakfast

[Linked Image], etc.

We also brought a couple of steaks, which we will enjoy soon, I'm sure. We picked up some lamb chops at Super U the other day also. They were wonderful, although I forgot to take pictures. We also got some quiche there, which we enjoyed for breakfast this morning.

I have been incredibly lazy so far.

[Linked Image] I am in the middle of my fourth book, having already had to go down to the office here and swap out the ones I brought with me, as I had read them already. My 'office' here consists, as always, of my comfy chair with hassock, staring out at the water, with my drink at my side. Sometimes coffee or OJ or soda, usually something stronger. smile

[Linked Image]

Eric normally spends a lot of time on the computer, or watching TV.

[Linked Image]

I usually spend a lot of time out under the gazebo by the pool, often taking pictures of planes.

[Linked Image]

So far, I have been too lazy to even do much of that, although I did catch KLM leaving one day.

[Linked Image]

There haven't been many rich men's toys out front, but I did catch this one, one morning, hauling a$$. I suspect he was headed for the 9 AM bridge opening.

[Linked Image]

In the category of oddities, that I couldn't get my camera up fast enough to take pictures--1) PIGS at the lookout by the (flagless) flag pole at the top of hte hill and 2) A HORSE, at the gas station by the roundabout at the end of the Causeway, as well as three more on the road going toward Marigot.

That tater salad looks to be quite tasty. Glad you are enjoying a relaxing stay. It's pretty much what we do too. Tough job but someone has to do it.

Thanks for taking the time to post and add your pictures. We walked through BSV last November while we spent some time at D’s. We chatted with a lady lounging in front of her unit and she invited us in to look at the unit. We will be splitting our November trip this year between Orient and BSV. looking forward to a little change.

Scuba--the potato salad is just like I make it at home. Can't stand the pre-made stuff.

Nothing better than homemade. Lee's has a great homemade tater salad. Made there daily.

TJ--thanks. I do hope we will see Saba again before we leave. It has been extremely hazy the past few days.
