We're home! Arrived home at 10 PM last night. In the office this morning, so my tail is kind of dragging. Where's my mimosa??? shocked

We had no problems getting home. The system for checking bags is kind of odd, although we did figure it out. AFTER we had put in all our info, tried to pay to check a bag, and the attendant said that kiosk wouldn't accept credit cards. I guess she didn't see the huge bag sitting beside us--which ended up being overweight!! duh Bag was overweight because we bought an 8 pound wheel of gouda. We were not necessarily surprised about the weight, so after shifting the cheese to our carry on bag, we were off. The lines to go upstairs and for security were pretty short and we were at our gate within 30 minutes of arriving, even after the bag ruckus.

Our outbound flight was TOTALLY full, as the inbound flight had been. We got a jetway joy and actually arrived in Miami about 25 minutes early. I got wheelchair in Miami, as it is SUCH a long walk. It was not nearly as busy as the past couple of times there. All in all, we were through the airport, picked up by Park N Fly and in our car, within an hour of landing. Good deal!!

I have a bunch more pictures to post and details of the final few days. Overall, a wonderful trip. Early on, we thought we had a minor disaster, as Eric couldn't locate his credit card. Called and cancelled it, and of course he found it a couple of hours later! duh Used other cards, so it's all good, except that he has to change a bunch of his auto-charges on it. We did very little, which is what we want out of a vacation. I think the final book total is 6 3/4, as I didn't quite finish the last one.

We leave to come back.

Yes, that do it your self tagging/bagging isn't that fun. A wheel of gouda is always great to take home, makes great gifts if you cut them into slices and seal them up!

Thanks for the report.

erb--actually, we cut up the wheel and put most of it in the freezer! grin

The bag checking thing wouldn't have been that big a deal except that the gal who helped us to try to do it didn't tell us we couldn't pay for a bag at the first kiosk. She was right there.. Anyway.

Someone tried to use David's credit card, while we were on the way to Australia, to charge over $900 at Lowe's dot com. Capitol One caught it as unusual and cancelled the card. Of course, we couldn't do a lot about it while we were gone, so a few auto payments bounced. Fortunately, we were able to resolve it all when we got home, It's definitely a pain. I'm surprised the card company wouldn't reinstate the card after Eric found it.

Yes, he tried to get them to reverse it but they wouldn't. They actually asked him if he wanted to just FREEZE it initially, and he said no. In retrospect, he should have said yes. It's OK, just glad it wasn't actually used.
