We are headed down next week for a 10 day trip. We are always on the hunt for secluded anchorages, which seem to be more and more difficult to find. At times, we have been able to anchor in Deadman's Bay, and have the place entirely to ourselves. My understanding is that there are now mooring balls there. Does anyone know if there is still room to anchor outside the mooring balls, or does the mooring field use up all the available space?
Alternatively, has anyone anchored in White Bay (Peter Island) on the south side? Are there any obstructions to be concerned about? I assume the holding in sand would be good?
In either case, these would be day stop, weather dependent options.

Deadman’s Bay still has room to anchor but you will be out in the deeper part where the swell rolls around. Key Bay an be nice but be aware the two balls there are dive balls and not for overnight use.

We anchored for a couple of hours in White Bay, approximately at the red dot in the attached image. Holding was fine.

There were 16 balls at Deadman when we were there in the Fall but we anchored with no issues...
On our trip in May we tried for Key Bay but it was pretty rolly so we hopped across to Benures Bay on Norman and it was great. There were only two other boats there and they left after lunch. We had the whole place to ourselves for the night.
We stayed in Key Bay a few weeks back with a moderate east to southeast wind and wave action. We were the only boat in there, so we enjoyed the seclusion, but the boat was moving a little over the night. That same afternoon, we tried White Bay, but it was even more rolly with that wind and wave direction. Next year, we plan to try Little Harbour with a rear tie. I talked to a few charter captains who said that it’s a beautiful place and quite calm. Has anyone on here tried it?
