This morning at the fish market in Marigot I had a conversation with Vanou, the fisherman who often ferries picnickers to Tintamarre Island. I asked him how things are going, and he said, "Terrible. No business because of the sargassum. I've never seen the sargassum so bad."
Trips to Ile Pinel and Tintamarre out of Cul-de-Sac are impossible because of the sargassum there, and the pier is closed. It's been that way for weeks.
