I just learned yesterday that there are no more white FCFS mooring balls at MC....all boaty balls now. Has anyone been there recently? Is this true?

What happened to the promise to keep half the balls FCFS? I have no knowledge of that, but will ask if I get the opportunity. Their "toll collector" rides around every evening, but we have seen folks come in after he's gone. Whether that's a deliberate attempt to avoid paying, I can only speculate. I have seen other behavior, like overnighting on dive moorings and squatting private moorings that make me suspect that may be the case. It's hard to believe someone would pay $$$$ to charter a boat and cheap out on mooring fees! I guess if all the balls are red, they have a list of unused balls and the "toll collector" just cruises by to see if they're occupied

That is correct. It is boatball ball only. We spent last night there On an anchor close to the reef. Had the scrub Island in ferry go by us. But we were very fine. Can confirm absolutely as of today it is boatyball only. There were booty balls and we arrived about 17:30 at Marina Cay.. We tried a couple of bays on Great Camanoe, but it was too windy. So we moved back to Marina Cay.
We arrived yesterday on American Airlines from Miami and picked up the boat from TRELLIS. Apparently we were the last flight to arrive from Miami yesterday as there was a problem with a EIS departing small aircraft that had an incident with a blown tire. The airport did not reopen until 9 o’clock or so last night. Glad we made it!

Sad to see Boaty Ball increase its dominance. Gone are the days when you could sleep late, loll around, then decide if you were even going to move and, if so, where.
Alas, many of the things that made the BVI so great are only memories now.

Quick count says 32 boats at MC tonight. Some days have seen as many as 40.
