Hey Everyone!

Our trip was 10 days, Dec 2-12. We've been a LOT of places but really fell in love w/ St Martin! Thought we'd share some info. on our experiences & "best bets".

I thinkl our biggest surprise was that we were told french side is best. We actually loved the Dutch side & found the french to be quite stuffy & unfriendly. So, most of our money was spent on the "friendlier" side!

Restaurants:
#1 has to be Lotterie Farm....Hard to describe but the entire experience is just a 10+! An absolute MUST for FOOD, service & atmosphere.
2. Ric's Place at Simpson Bay area was a fun, inexpensive neighborhood-type place with great service & surprisingly great food
3. BooBoo Jam's at Orient on Sunday night for the music, dancing and excellent food....we had a blast!
4. Boathouse at Simpson Bay area, yes they have great seafood!!!!!
5. Ms B's at Dawn Beach very inexpensive, simply gorgeous beach, and wonderful coladas, burgers & best ribs on the island!
6. Peg Leg Pub at Simpson Bay area for the greatest steaks!!!!
7. Baywatch at Orient had incredible food & service!

We actually didn't have anything but fantastic meals anywhere we ate!

We stayed at Orient Bay Resort & it was beautiful! Dawn Beach is quiet & simply postcard perfect! Only problem was the fact that we're activity-people, so we had to drive a good distance to almost everything.

As you all have stated, Sunset Beach Bar is a very fun place, especially when you drink for free... :-) LOL

We never did go on any boat trips, as it did get rough & very windy & we're both prone to seasickness. However, there is certainly more than enough to do without ever getting on a boat!

Shopping was actually better than expected. Old St in Phillipsburgh was quaintish & I was surprised by all the great things for sale with non-exhuberant prices. Ladies, you have to check out the "knock-off" designer purses there! Nice selection of Coach, Louis Vitton, Gucci, etc!!!!!

All in all, the best trip we've ever taken, and we've been to Acapulco, Peurto Vallarta, Aruba, Maui, Jamaica, Caymans. Just such an array of things to do, great food, picturesque surroundings.

We are planning to go back same time next year, for sure! (1st week December)

Hope this info helps you planners out there!
