Heading back home tomorrow after spending 2 wonderful weeks here... There is something that we couldn't not notice this year: the amount of security on the island. Private guards, sheriffs, police, gendarmes in marigot with sub machine guns, patrol vehicles, dogs, coastguard with boats and choppers over heads. WOW!! I never felt safer here!

In addition to the police action on the French side, the Dutch side (Police & Coast Guard) is very active and visible during the Heineken Regatta which just ended.

SXM Wendell Not really searching, just patrolling I would say. One of them even winked to my daughter while we were eating at tropicana.... They were friendly.
