Hello to everyone I met this year at Club O. I have my own sign on now and Painterman Steve will be posting his a trip report from his point of view later.
We arrived at Club O (our 3rd time there, 5th on island) on Saturday April 14 along with Rick & Darlene, and Bev, Neil & Will. Will loved the beach this year as he was able to run up and down the beach and if you weren't looking right into the water too! Sunday was Bev's birthday and we surprised her with balloons all around her patio and Steve painted her window for her. At lunch we ate a Papagoyos and had the most incredible chocolate cake thing for desert. Tuesday John and Faye arrived and we met them at Pedro's for Caribe and ribs - it's become a tradition. Steve and I had known since January so could hardly wait for John and Faye to announce to the rest of our crew that they were getting married on the island on Thursday.

The wedding was at Cupecoy Beach and was beautiful. We made it back to the Club for Happy Hour and then we were off to dinner at Le Piccolo's in Cul de Sac. We're not sure if its the food or the handsome waiter that keeps us going back!

The sand gravity seemed much worse this year and I actually passed up on two opportunities to go jewelry shopping in Philipsburg without Steve - unbelieveable....The first week passed too quickly and Rick, Darlene, Bev, Neil and Will had to go home.

We had a great time though; too much beer (Steve's payment for painting!) and oohh the red, red wine (Bev & Faye know what I mean!) and the barbeques every night - and the conversations!!! We met many people from previous visits and made many new friends this year as well. To all of you who where at Mike & Moira's when I walked through the screen door

the cut on my nose has healed but I never did go back to see if the screen door was okay now. Must have been those Jello shooters

. We made it to the TTOL get together at Bikini Beach and met Contessa and entourage. We ate at Yvette's that night - a really nice lolo.
Thanks to the Parrotheads for a wonderful dinner on Thursday night (a very generous payment for Steve's artwork) we had a great time. Hard to believe that it was only yesterday morning that I was on the beach

. Oh well on a brighter note, we came home to spring. The snow was completely gone, the crocus' are all in bloom, the daffodils and tulips and spouted and should be blooming in a few weeks and the grass is almost all green. Quite a change from 2 weeks ago. If we are lucky we should be on the beach at Crystal Crescent in another month.

Cathy (Painterman Steve's better half)

Edited by Administrator on 4/30/01 03:47 PM.
