4 of us are heading to BVI for a week of sailing. As we make final plans, we had a couple of questions. We are going out of Road Town. Best place to get ice blocks? also for provisioning - who do you recommend? Is TICOS's good for beverages? Very excited <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" /> Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

Our charter company (TMM) had bags of ice and blocks for purchase at their base. We provisioned ourselves in person at the big Riteway. The shelves were a bit picked over and bare on a Saturday night mid-March. Maybe just bad timing on our part? We provisioned alcohol & drinks from Caribbean Cellars - wish I could say it was great, but they were out of a few things (most key was gallons of water) and we didn't know that until they showed up at the boat with our order.

We have ordered from Tico's and Riteway. Never any real problems with either. Order on line and have it delivered right to the boat.

Are you using them to keep the fridge/freezer cool? Or cooler?

We've never had an issue keeping things cold in the fridge/freezer. Actually we usually keep ice in the freezer just to use for drinks.

We also set sail on the 19th! What boat are you sailing? We are on a Beneteau - Santa Maria.
