Thank to all regulars on here for great info concerning the island. We had a wonderful trip.

To start off with, there was a part of me concerned with the safety issue because of some posts I have read. That being said we did not once have any problems at all during our stay.

We arrived at the Sapphire Beach Club on Sunday and was greeted by the staff with a flower and champagne bottle for my wife as well as my friends wife. We did not feel the Sapphire was run down as some has stated, everything in my unit was fine, a couple of ants roaming around but no major problems. Maybe it was because we stayed in the newer tower, #3, but it seemed reletively nice.
Here was a surprise, the Sapphire actually had a beach, nothing major but you could fit about 8 to 10 chairs on the stretch to lay out. We did that for the first day.

Other beaches we hit were, Cupecoy, Baie Rouge, Mullet, and Orient. Orient by far was my favorite.

The best restaurant we dined at we came across by accident. We were planning to attend the Tropicanna but they were closed for that day, the owner told us about his other restaraunt that he opened last year called "Rare" (maybe Raire?), it was the BEST food I have eaten in a loooooong time. Their focus is steak, and let me tell you that they do an excellent job with it. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend the restaraunt. It is right next to the Tropicana by the Alantis Casino.

Other food outings were, Johnny B's under the Tree, great barbeque ribs!

Sapphire Restaurant was pretty good, not excellent but definitely a good one.

Pineapple Pete's: pretty good hamburgers, the main attraction there was that coconut cake thing they have. I split mine with my wife and we both wished we bought our own.

Zee Best Pastry, good place for breakfast, food is really good.

There was another french pasty place in Marigot but I forgot it's name. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Blush.gif" alt="" />

One bad restaurant outing that turned into something good was the day of my wife and my 10th year anniversary (6/22) we had reservations at the le Tastevin. We arrived and I told the gentlemen greeting us my name. He said he would be right back and he walks away. After 10 minutes waiting (no one else is around) I go to look to see what was going on and see the man standing in the dining area with his back turned towards me, only one other couple was in the place and he was not near them. I tried to get his attention by saying, excuse me, but he walked away at that point and there we stood. Finally, we deicded it was not worth it and went to the L'Alabama.
L'Alabama is an excellent restaraunt and I would recommend it to everyone. They really created a cozy romantic setting and the food was not only exquisite but the presentation of the food was very well done.

It rained 4 times while we were there, 2x's for about 5 mins. Once for about an hour and one time at night. The rest of the time the weather was gorgeous.

We did the Prickly Pear snorkeling trip throught Bluebeards and had a blast. Great snorkeling and a fun time sailing.

We had lots of fun haggling at St. Phillipsburg. Bought my wife 2 new rings, one that I will be paying for for quite some time (id the "ABC" present for her, anniversary, birthday, Christmas present).
Bought some Cohiba Cubans, a imitation Omega watch and some smaller items.

The time to leave came to soon, I truely miss the island.

On a side note, Delta ended up placing the wrong luggage in our flight so everyone on our flight left without the checked in luggage, did not recieve it until the next day.

Thanks again for all the recommendations and thanks to Bruce at Kenny's Car rental for taking care of everything for us! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/usflag.gif" alt="" />
