We had a great time on St. John this past week. The house ( http://palladiosview.com/index.html )was truly wonderful. It stayed cool, was very well appointed, and the pool was where we spent most of our time. The house would be perfect for a small family or two couples to share. The outdoor showers with views of the east end, Tortola, Norman, Peter, and VG were spectacular.

We ate at the house a lot but we did eat out a few nights and lunches.

I'll start with Island Blues in Coral Bay. We loved this place. We ate burgers and poppers sitting right on the water. Although we didn't try any of their fancy specials it looked great. This was my definition of a great seaside island restaurant/ bar.

We also ate at the Shipwreck landing in Coral Bay. Good food, not too pricey and very open air islandy.

The Donkey Diner for breakfast should not be missed. It was great and the service was wonderful. We ate outside and enjoyed the morning. They give you enough food for a small country!

We had lunch at Woodies in Cruz bay and it was very good, very laid back. We also ate at JJ's Texas cafe for lunch one day. The chips w/ cheese and salsa was on time!

As I mentioned in another post we had my wife's birthday dinner at Zozo's. This place was everything it should have been. The food was wonderful, the wine list complete, and the views exceptional. Don't miss this one! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" />

We had a really laid back week and just hung out at the house most days. We did rent a jeep for the week and explored some. We saw A LOT of people on Trunk Bay so we went right on by! The other beaches looked really nice. We did go to Salt Pond one day but it was lunch time and there were 10-12 cars in the pulloff so we chose to keep moving.

Overall we were really pleased with St John. Everyone seemed glas to have us around and the service was great everywhere we went. I know some of us are used to the "island attitude" that is displayed from many in the service industry in the islands. We saw none of that on St. John. Not once all week did I feel that I was bugging someone when asking for more water or the check or to look at a bracelet or whatever.

We will go back to St. John. I don't think we will ever abandon our beloved British Virgin Islands but St' John is on the to do again list.
