So....I know this has been talked about many times but I cant find it. We need to spend a Friday night on St Thomas before our flight home and are looking for hotel suggestions. Our flight is at 1:00 so we don't have to be right next to the airport. The obvious answer is don't go home but..... Many Thanks and sorry for the repeat question!

Best Western Caribe Beach is right across the street and fine for a night - you could also stay at the BW Emerald Beach for a little extra $$$ - but you can use the facilities at BWEB either way - they are very close and if you don't want to walk, there's a shuttle.

We've always stayed at Emerald Beach or Carib Beach, but another less expensive option is Island Beachcomber, right next door to BWEB.

BWEB is where we've always stayed. Remember that they don't have elevators. My wife has some hip issues, so we always make a point to ask for a first floor room.

We gave upon Emerald Beach when their prices went over $300 per night (closer to $400 last time we checked). The Windward Passage has very nice rooms in a somewhat badly laid out hotel but is great for one night..across from the ferry..close to great restaurants in Frenchtown. We spend the extra on a terrific meal at "Oceana"..

We stayed at BW Carib once. It was fine. It was frankly a nice transition back to the "real" world. The little "beach" bar there is fine, with decent food. The views are nice for something that is right next to the airport.

We got off the ferry, cabbed to the hotel and checked in. Went and dipped our feet in the water with some drinks, got something to eat and went back to the room and caught up on some cable news and fell over asleep. Woke up the next morning and were a 5-10 minute walk from our check in. Easy peasy. It's not overly luxurious, but is just fine, clean enough and the location is ideal. Can't imagine spending the difference for the Emerald Beach one, not for one night before catching a flight.

We stayed at Emerald Beach last Friday and Saturday. Price was $209 per night. I did notice they are now charging a $20 resort fee too. So it was $229 per night.

Thanks all!! Just booked the BW Caribe @ $105. Pretty happy about the rate....not so happy about what it represents.

That's a great rate. Best we've ever done was $130.

It was $301 all-in with tax etc.

It was a good transition back to reality. Did we see you in the pool? We were five ladies cooling off in the pool with a drink :-)
