well,, I was overweight. kindly the airline workers suggested I buy a second bag. I had one packed and transferred stuff right at the counter. $40 to check 2nd bag. it would have been $100 for overweight bag. and I didn't get any more alcohol.

This from a woman..I pack several bathing suits, shirts, pants and shorts. all quietly goes rolled into my carry on. My quart bag of liquids and kindle go in my purse. This is what I take for a 3 week stay. I could check my little bag and carry lots of Rum Jumbie and Guavaberry boxed...... just sayin.

YEAH. I needed the bigger one on the trip down to hold necessities 'just in case' and I had a smaller, insulated one packed for beach stuff. I wanted to take the smaller one home so I packed the bigger, empty one. As it turns out, the bigger, empty one when it was in use was fine. I had such a big main suitcase with me, the 2nd one didn't knock it off its wheels. all worked great..
