The other poster is correct... 30k is a big budget, even for a high end, luxury cat. More Amore, which is a 62 leopard and provides a very high end experience is only 25k for the week for eight. You can go higher than that as well. Here is a link to more amore for your friend, if interested. http://www.iyachtclub.com/yachts/amore/ Happy sailing! Derek

I'd take a look at the Moorings 5800. The 3 cabins in the hull are equal. Then they have two on the main level. They are smaller, but have a unique view since they are on the main level. They also have a door to the forward cockpit area.
What we felt was one of the best aspects was the huge flybridge - lots of space to lounge, relax and there's even a fridge, grill and sink!

If your friend is used to real luxury then he/she will want something like this http://sailsabore.com/index.html rather than a crewed boat from one of the big bareboat groups. Don't know about the current crew but I have been aboard the boat in the past and it is magnificent.

warren460 said: How well does the 5800 sail? I thought it sailed well. The self tacking genoa was great. We frequently moved along at 10-12 knots if I recall correctly.

Sunreef, a Polish builder, makes a luxury catamaran in both power and sail configurations. There are several available in the winter doing charter, in that price range. Most are inclusive of all but tip. This is a much nicer experience than a bareboat with a crew. http://www.sunreef-yachts.com

Just to clarify - the Moorings 5800 is mostly offered as crewed yachts (they have 2 bareboat). These should not be considered bareboat with a crew - the crew is the crew that manages that boat, just like any other all inclusive.
