How about Mary's Boon? On the beach, if you wanted to, you could even eat dinner that last night at Karakter or there at MB, so you wouldn't need to drive the last night. Should have no problem getting one night there, if you did it now.

Le Petite is a great hotel, but I kind of doubt you would be able to get a one night stay there in January, as they would probably be sold out. Not really close to the airport either.

Not really close to the airport either. You never know it is a Sunday night. They have all day Monday to get to the airport should be ok unless someone decides to block the road.

Lots of choices You could just stay at the Westin, no need to repack, either use their beach or cab it to Orient or? At the airport is the Sonesta Maho, you could hang out there or walk to Mullet beach Depends a bit what "leaves Monday pm" means as to how much of Monday you get to for beach time, looking around etc ie Monday at 1 pm, 5pm, or later?

I agree with John and Bev. Just stay at The Westin and relax for another day. If you feel you must be closer to the airport, then Sonesta Maho is a great choice close to the beach, dining and nightlife.

Could be, certainly worth asking. I guess I had assumed that they had already asked, but that may not be a good assumption.

If that's the case, and I understand exactly what you're saying, I'd opt for the Sonesta Maho Beach. Can't get much closer than that and it has full amenities.....pool, restaurants, taxis, at least one and probably two beaches, and lastly, nighttime entertainment, too.

I would book a night at the Sonesta Maho, take taxi over, check in, either chill at the pool or beach right there or walk to Mullet for the afternoon. Then your trip to the airport is under 5 minutes and an 8.00 cab ride. You won't have a chance for any traffic. If your flight is at 2:00 on a Monday, I would get there at 12:30, which gives you the morning, get up early, grab breakfast at Sunset, watch some planes, walk back clean up and head to the airport - thats what I would do!

That's why they make chocolate and vanilla! Personally I would hate staying in Maho, it feels like a mini Las Vegas to me, would prefer a really great beach, like at Mary's Boon. Enjoy your last day, Bobben, wherever it is!!

we stayed at the Royal Islander for the first time and loved being within walking distance to bars and restaurants, as far as mini Las Vegas, not sure what Las Vegas you have been to, but not even close!! Why I would stay there, they check out of the Westin, say at 11:00, arrive at noon wherever they are, they have 24 hours, they can go to Mullet for the afternoon, or stay at the beach at Maho if its there (which its back), but then they don't need to hire a car or taxi, can just walk to dinner, bars, casino if would like and do some shopping, then have a leisurely breakfast and a quick ride to the airport when they decide its time to go, always taxi's sitting waiting. Simple.

OK, well mini SXM Las Vegas! Like I said, never liked the ambiance of Maho, but I'm sure a lot of people like it. As far as the beach at Maho, it is there now, but they're talking January, so who knows by then?

Love Maho, the residences at Blue Marine give amazing views with that hint of separation from the crowds. I've never favored Maho beach when Mullet beach is right around the corner and one of the nicer beaches on the island.
Be Happy! Simply because you deserve to be. 😁
