BVI-JVD Trip Report
December 13th - December 30th

Left the house at 4:30am Saturday December 13th for the RDU airport and arrived at STT at 3:00pm.
Caught the 4:30pm ferry to WE with plenty of time to visit the Petite Pump Room for a cold one.
Caught the 6:00pm ferry from WE to JVD.
Checked into WBV’s and realized we had no transportation, no food, no cell phone service, and nothing to drink except the 5 bottles of rum that Thad and Malia had left us. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> Thad and Malia gave us a ride to Ali Baba’s for dinner. It was a long and exhausting travel day but we’re HERE!!!!!!

We spent the next 3 days at WBV’s and got to know Thad and Malia. They are truly wonderful people and have a beautiful daughter, Beth! If you are looking for a place with a kitchen, TV and great breezes; the Hillside Villas are perfect and we would highly recommend them. Thank you Thad and Malia for being such great hosts and friends while we stayed there.

Checked into Sandcastle on 12/17 and settled into Seaside Cottage #2.

Highlights
Meeting NCSailor at STT airport and then again at Corsairs.
Meeting all the new people we spent time with while on JVD: Tina and John(recognized us from TTOL), Frank and Jennifer, Joel and Denisa, Pat and Linda, Marilyn and Randy, Joe and Carol (Sea of Love), Steve and Nick and their families from England, and the group from Illinois. Most of all, running into Sharon (Sharnightqueen) at the STT airport on 12/30. What a treat that was! Can’t believe we missed her at Ivan’s.


Bubbly Pool was in full swing

The weather was perfect: rained at night and stopped when the sun came up.
Shuttling two different couples from SDB to the ferry dock for the last ferry to WE. (They were enjoying themselves too much at SDB and lost track of time)
Meeting Eric Stone at Corsairs; he will be playing there weekly. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Banana.gif" alt="" />
One Love: Sampled Seddy’s Fish Chowder. Raquel’s bushwackers ‘whacked’ Tommy. I had to cut him off behind his back.
Corsairs: always excellent. Vinny has a new chef and the seared ahi tuna is fabulous!
Ali Baba’s: always excellent. The ribs and chicken breasts are wonderful! Ali Baba can make some ‘mean’ bushwackers.
Harris Place: Cynthia is always a charmer and served the best grilled grouper we have ever had.
Ivan’s: Thursday night BBQ, always the BEST!
Foxy’s Taboo: lunches are always great, have never eaten there for supper.

Sandcastle: Chef Oliver is always five star. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

Mic is the BEST bartender. He always takes care of us!
The Sandcastle Staff is truly top notch and is one of the reasons we always return. They make you feel like family.

Enjoyed the flexibility of having a vehicle on this trip.
