Anybody got some good suggestions for tailgating food?? Something that DOESN'T need to be cooked on site or kept hot?? Making plans for Jimmy Buffet this weekend!!

Cold Kabobs are fun and finger friendly! Fruit: Melon, Strawberry, Grape, etc. Antipasto: Chunk salami, olives, peppers, etc. Cooked chicken: & pineapple marinated in soy, seseme oil, & honey. You can do them all ahead of time, keep chilled and serve.

Strawberry shots - easy and fun
Ingredients: Large fresh strawberries Can of whipped topping Amaretto
Remove the stems and core the berries - the rest is done on site. Pick a strawberry, pour amaretto in it and then top it off with whipped topping straight from the can. Then pop it all in your mouth. Yummy!!

You could use peach slices for some of them!

Marinate chicken wingettes in teriyaki sauce. I put them in a plastic bag. Overnight. Cook in oven until very brown. Serve them hot or cold. Always a hit!

BLT Tartlets
Cut circles from slice of bread and bake in mini muffin pans. (These can be stored for a day or two)
When ready, fill tartlets with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatos, and bacon bits from a jar.
Pretty and easy. I usually mix my mayo with a little pesto or some dill for a little added kick.

I'm embarassed to say, no. I got busy with our company and didn't really have time to think about doing something different, so I had fried chicken (purchased), 7 layer dip, broccoli salad, shrimp and some grapes....

People actually drank more than they ate, I think, but that's not unusual for a Buffet concert!

We recently found these little pocket pita's, about 2-3" in diameter... Click HERE for the ones we get locally in the supermarket... Stuffed with some whipped cream cheese w/chives, chopped green onion, small capers, fresh ground black pepper & some Nova Scotia Lox! They are excellent!
