I usually don't post what I do here on the island but I thought I'd give my 2 cents about where we ate last night.
I'm always looking for a new restaurant to try every year. Someone here had posted about a nice meal they had a a place called Jam Rock in Cul de Sac. Well we tried it last night and it will be added to our repertoire of restaurants that we eat at on the island. I had stuffed (box) fish, my wife had the curry shrimp, and our friends had conch, and snapper. All dishes were excellent. The ambiance was very islandish as well. If you like Creole/island style food, try this restaurant.

We have eaten there in the past and enjoyed it. If I remember correctly the wife is the chef and is from Jamaica and the husband who runs the front is an SXM native and a former fisherman. Therefore, he has the contacts to get fresh fish daily.

He told me that he caught the fish that I was served.

When I was there in June, that's what the wife/chef told me as well: hubby caught the fish that day.

We ate there also on our last visit in March and added it to our "Must Do" list. The service was very good as well as the food. We actually ended up eating at quite a few of the restaurants in Cul De Sac. Our favorite was Pancho Villa.
