We took providence island III stt to roAd town yesterday. We went over for the day and had no bags with us.

Some peoples luggage was piled in the back. They were the lucky ones.

The not so lucky had there's stowed to port aft of the stairs and uncovered from the elements.

It was choppy in pillsbury sound.

Lots of spray was constantly soaking those bags.

I feel sorry for those passengers with the very wet cloths.

I don't know how we avoid this problem in the future.

We pack our stuff in a trash bag, and put it in a duffle bag to make it look pretty.

Did that since "the Captain" (me:( deposited a bag while loading the boat. No fault of the faeries.

Perhaps we're lucky, we were down last week and was on that very ferry both to and from Road Town. No issues with our luggage. Actually, in all our trips, we have never had wet luggage. Id have to say if luggage got soaked, it was the exception

I have not had any issues. I was really surprised by what I saw

We have had bags get soaked on the tarmac and in our own boat on the way to the house. We have found three good ways to prevent that: Pelican rolling carry-on and briefcase, Action Packer inside a large duffle bag, hard-sided suitcase with rubber gasket.

The last are not easy to find, but can be ordered. We have a venerable set of orange plastic ones that have been around the world, but predate TSA locks. Now we have Samsonite Spinners with TSA locks. The key is to get the ones with clamps and a gasket, not a zipper.

On my 2014 trip, some of us flew out of EIS and some took the ferry out of Roadtown. The ferry goers reported that once underway, they were diverted to WE before headed to STT. On the trip, a few bags went overboard. That had to suck for whoever that happened to. I hope their passports were with them and not in the baggage.
