Is anyone else having a problem signing onto the Daily Herald newspaper. All of a sudden I can't get it online.
Thanks

I have had an intermittent problem with it today. Just tried just now and no dice.

And isn't the log in address slightly different these days? I read somewhere, perhaps here? - you had to add SM to it somewhere, but I haven't tried reading since we got home beyond reading the links that are often posted here. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Yes, they changed the url slightly a month or two ago, but this problem seems to have happened today only.

Only 2 possible explanations:

1) After having wrongly accused the French Gendarmerie of getting into a drunken fight, they have now closed down operations and are checking all their stories.

2) Their website has been hacked with a Service Denial by the French Gendarmerie in retaliation.

Personally, I have never thought much of their stories, in most cases they just republish police reports or official statements.

Uhmn, no, wrong. I was able to get online with them earlier on a couple of occasions today and JD (ruralcarrier) apparently has had no problem all day. Obviously just some kind of techie snafu.

I've been able to get onto the site fine with the new url a couple times today:

https://www.thedailyherald.sx/

I'm guessing some may be reverting to the old url and should clear their cache but this advice is coming from someone who can't remember their own cell phone number.

No, it's not a matter of trying to access the old url, as I changed my bookmark when they went to the new url. Hopefully they will get it fixed.

I hope that was said tongue in cheek....maybe you could add a website issue

..and if THEY didn't "publish police reports and official statements" is another single source to be informed every day when those reports are filed?

Site is working fine this AM

Are you connecting on a computer or laptop, or a tablet device? I am on an iPad, and have not been able to connect for 2 days.

Mystery solved. I am using Chrome on my iPad. I closed the tab to the Daily Herald, closed Chrome completely, and rebooted my iPad. When I reopened Chrome, and entered the Daily Herald URL, it opened fine.

Eric thought it might be a problem with their DNS server timing out. I was able to connect from the office today, and connected just now from home, so hopefully the problem has been resolved.

An antique desktop computer but I was also able to connect on my Chromebook without any problems either.
