Fly into SXM then take either ferry, private water taxi or island hopper flight to Anguilla or fly into San Juan then take Seaborne or Tradewinds to Anguilla.

We have done the private ferry but now use the public ferry. Just as easy and runs on schedule. Just curious though on air charters from SXM to Anguilla. Any link to websites so I can check price?

Thanks Ellen for the reply...hard for us to justify the extra money for flight, but maybe someday. Limited budget now! Flight would be great but ferry isn't too bad. I grin and bear it, for $20/25 a person. Will you be on island when we are there? 24-30th?

I think I saw that the Anguilla government was talking about lengthening the airstrip. I'm thinking that the purpose is actually to be able to land larger private jets? I did wonder whether they would also be trying to acquire more flights from Puerto Rico?

Carol - the gov messed up in 2005 when they had the opportunity to lengthen the runway and did not. Now they are stuck - legal battles to get land and no money. There are a few flights from SJU, but we gave up on that route after getting stuck there for 6 hours one day. I would sooner fly into SXM and book the AXA flight and if it does not work - then there are plenty of other options to get across.

OK, I wasn't sure what the deal was, the blurb I read in the paper made it seem like they were really going to extend the runway soon.
