Anyone been to Rainbow or Cpt Frenchie's? Are the chairs no longer on the beach?

So, what does that mean? People are ignoring the ban or the rule has been changed?

It was posted before that they were loaning chairs to patrons to use. Not actually setting them up as a side business. One way of getting around it.

Well, I understood the essence of the problem was the PRESENCE of chairs on the beach, not whether people were PAYING to use the chairs. I don't understand how that makes it not a violation of the ordinance. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I doubt the law has changed. I have emailed Michael @ Capt Frenchy's ahead of time and mine are set up when I get there. I think it's "if you want a chair, you get a chair".

The difference is, in my opinion only, that it's a public beach and I can use a lounge on that beach (being the public). It's doesn't matter where I get my lounge chair from. That just seems to be the difference.

OK, I guess I understand. So someone that just shows up, they have to haul a chair from somewhere for you? There are no chairs just set up on the beach ahead of time?

That's the way I understand it. You can also call Captain Frenchy and reserve chairs, which I believe they will set up for you in advance. I've seen recent photos that show unoccupied chairs set up, so am guessing those were reserved.

When we went last almost 2 weeks ago the chairs at Rainbow, Frenchy's and Enolds were already set up before anyone arrived.

Sounds like they are basically scoffing at the law. (Which is not to say that I agree with the law, as I think it's stupid...)

Thank's for the info. Thought since our flight gets in around noon we'd go to Grand Case and eat, hopefully with feet in the sand & water.
