We will be on the island for a month beginning next week. I was wondering if there was still a laundry in Orient Village? There was one there in the summer but having read the posts about the new T-shirt shop I wasn't sure. Thanks in advance for the help.

Where on island will you stay? Most places have washers/dryers. We alternate between Divi & Grand Case Beach club and some units at Divi have w/d in unit and also a room designated laundry. GCBC has a laundry unit. Villa rentals usually have washer if not both check where you'll be staying.

We stay at O'Paradis in Orient Village. We have stayed there for 10 years and have used the laundry in Orient Village. The units do not have laundry facilities. In the past we have used the drop off laundry in the village but something I read on this site made me think it might no longer be there. Thank you for your reply

If no one here has a suggestion, you might send Bruno an email and ask him.. If nothing else, I assume he would know someone that is a maid somewhere that would do it for you.

Thanks Carol. My problem with asking Bruno is that he will say he will do our laundry. With all that he and Geraldine are involved in asking him to do our laundry is more than what I want to ask. We have used the laundry in the village many times in the past. Just not sure this year as I read about a T-shirt store relocating to the village. Thank you for your response.

I know what you are saying, Bruno is such a hard worker, he would do anything for someone who stays with him. But honestly, I would still ask him and tell him that you specifically want to get a recommendation for somewhere you can take it, or someone who you can PAY to do it.

Won't help you on French side but have mentioned this in the past for those staying on Dutch side, especially close to Philipsburg. Laundry on road outside of P-burg just down from Sunny Foods. $1/lb. with $6 minimum. Locals all use this place. Drop off early AM, pick up 4PM.
It's how we do 3 weeks with 1 carry on each.

The laundry in orient village is definitely gone. Too bad, because we used their service too. Haven't found a replacement yet, but I'll post if we do.

Don't know the details of where you're staying, but we've often found some of the maids at several of the different island properties we've enjoyed will eagerly do this and appreciate the extra income it generates for them. We've always found they do a good job and are more than reasonably priced and you can't beat the convenience! Plus it's always nice to see them smile when you tip on top of their quoted prices.

Respectfully,

pat

Curious, are there no washers/dryers at Belair?
