In light of the Government making improvements is there any good reason why the access road to Orient near the Club o location and the road that goes from pedros to Bikini are horrible.

Unfortunately, since those roads are basically at sea level (the one from butterfly farm may actually be an inch or two below), it is difficult to keep the roads dry during the rainy season. Big busses and vans put a lot of wear and tear on the roads and it is difficult to scrape/grade the roads every day or two. Paving, I have read, would lead to runoff problems that could damage the environment. We just look at it like Mother Nature's speed bumps and add a few minutes to our expected travel time when we go to Orient.

Talked to some of the owners / operators in the area in Feb. Was told that Club O was occasionally grading [with what?] the road, but in May or June the government told them to stop they would be doing the work - but they never did. I think Club O still occasionally does a bit of work but only to their entrance Again - hearsay, but? J&B
