Week 1 3/6 – 3/13 Flight from Newark on United left a bit late but landed 20 min early. No one ahead of us at immigration and baggage claim was fairly quick as well. Craig from Packlite was waiting with our phone and unity was ready to whisk us to their lot. Quick and easy. Got a relatively new gray Yaris. Check-in was easy at Simpson Bay Resort. Jeannie from Shop and Drop had already serviced out room. What a lady!!
We usually eat breakfast on the balcony and lunch is usually a baguette with roasted chicken. Dinner our 1st night was pizza and salad form Bon Appetite. Really quite tasty. This year they were serving their full, regular menu (It’s the closing party for the Regatta that night and in prior years they had only a limited menu.) The salad is large with lots of “stuff” and easily serves 2. Tuesday was the TTOL party at the Greenhouse. What a nice time. We so enjoy meeting all our fellow TTOL’ers. Stayed for dinner. We each had the Bang Bang wrap. I had shrimp and John had Chicken. Nice and spicy!! Comes with 2 sides. We had plantains, coleslaw, Baked beans and fries . We look forward to the wraps every year. Thursday we went to Bar Code up behind the Medical School. If you not been here you really should try it. Small and quiet, but very comfortable and modern. Evan and Sonja could not be more professional and friendly. We shared a Caprese Salad for our starter. We both had the Veal Milanese special which is a veal cutlet topped with fresh chopped tomatoes arugula and a bit of parmesan. Came with a side of pasta dressed with a light lemon and olive oil herb sauce. The bill, including 2 wine was 60 something with a tip. We’ll definitely be back. Friday we want to Avantika for our Thai fix. The stated was crispy pork with Sriracha sauce. I had Panang Curry with chicken. Spice level was perfect. It had green curry, coconut milk, lime, a bit of peanut I think and Thai Basil. YUM! John had Drunken Noodles with chicken. Again with wine and tip it was just over $60. Sunday night we tried a new place, Pizza del Sol. It’s underneath Avantika. Got 2 pizzas to go. The crust was hand tossed and very thing. The have a wood fired pizza over. We enjoyed it a lot. $16 each.
Weather. Very unusual for Mach. We’ve had some VERY windy days. Strong enough to blow chairs into the pool. There been quite a bit of rain especially at night and more often showers during the day than in the past. Now Today takes the cake. It’s been raining all day, heavily at times and gives no sign of letting up. Sure hope for better weather tomorrow!
General observations. Traffic seems about the same. The causeway has made a huge difference. We like to new Carrefors grocery store. Lots of interesting French products and the prices seem more reasonable. The only thing we haven’t been able to find is Diet Tonic water. Simpson bay Resort looks good and seems busier than in the past. The gym has moved to the lower level, which is a bit more spacious. Same equipment. Lockers rooms really small now, but hardly anyone ever uses then anyway.
On to week 2!

Thanks for the report and good seeing you both again.
Bar Code was on my radar but I ran out of time. Enjoy the rest of your time.
