My girlfriend and I are visiting St Maarten this month, with a day trip to Anguilla.

She has a resident green card for the US, and a foreign (Ukraine) passport. It seems she will not require a visa to enter SXM (Dutch side) due to her US green card, and it seems she can enter Anguilla via with her Ukranian passport.

We are planning on taking the return ferry from Anguilla to St Martin (Marigot), and asa result will be entering through the French side. The French embassey website ad similar forums give very conflicting information. Does anyone know if she will have any issues returning from Anguilla through the French side?

We are wondering if an Anguilla day trip is too risky!

A friend of mine had the same issue with her husband, who is a green card holder. She emailed the St. Martin Tourist Office in NYC. They assured her that all he needed was a valid passport, his green card, and an onward or return ticket. If you would like to email them, here is the email address:

newyork@stmartinisland.org

You can also go on their website. www.stmartinisland.org
Also, if her Ukranian passport is part of the EU, then no problem. To be safe, check with the tourism office.

Ukraine is not part of the EU. Normally, a Ukrainian citizen would need a visa, however, they do exempt green card holders from the visa requirement.
