We stayed at Scrub in the past but skipped it a number of trips until our past trip last week. With a 15 month old, we thought it would be good for a night so we could use their pool. We ended up staying two nights.
There's the pool and a beach right there, plus they have a beach on the north shore with a small pool and bar there too. The main pool has two levels with the upper level being an infinity edge. Lower level is great for kids with a walk in area and a water slide.
There's a couple of restaurants, dive shop and provisioning right there too.

Totally agree, great place if you have kids and with the TTOL discount even better. Although the marina can be difficult to navigate especially if crowded. It is tight and shallow for a monohull. We are typically put at the end of the dock so some nights you might get some roll and the ferry's will pick up and drop off at the end of the docks. To be safe make reservation and get there early for the late afternoon show of boats trying to dock. Most likely we have all been that boat at one time or another. 12 days to wheels up!!
“Dawn comes early on a boat, right Captain? That’s right it happens everyday just about sun up!”

We enjoyed our stay at Scrub for 5 days in Oct 2013. It had the feeling of a "concrete jungle" to us, compared to other resorts in the BVIs. We had a standard room with a tiny balcony, and it was fine for us. The bathroom was quite nice, but the shower door had big gaps, so water went all over the floor. Had to mop it up every time we showered. The room was small, but nice. The door between rooms had big gaps and you could hear the people in the next room very clearly. (Its designed so you could have adjoining rooms with a door.) Probably would not stay here again because of this.
Here are some items of note.
- Tierra restaurant (outdoor one) had fantastic food when we were there. Loved eating outside on the covered terrace. Enjoyed steel pan music one night during dinner. Their pumpkin coconut milk soup was so good!
- Pool area was lovely and the 2 levels with slide was fun.
- The on-site market didn't have much (maybe due to being off-season), but they were able to order us milk and we bought some breakfast items. We had coffee on our balcony every morning and enjoyed the view of the beautiful water and the boats coming and going.
- Had French toast with bananas in coconut sauce for breakfast 2 mornings. Wow, was it good. We ate outside near the upper restaurant.
- The beach in front of the resort is ok, not great. Had some decent snorkeling there. Unfortunately, it was very windy, so we weren't comfortable kayaking over to Diamond Reef, which is supposed to be a nice snorkel.
- The north beach area was pretty and had lots of shade, which was good for us. We tried to snorkel from the beach, but it was very shallow with coral right up to the surface. Found very little open area to be able to swim. Lunch at the North Beach was very limited - I think they had 2 items.
- We loved taking walks around the island on the dirt roads and were rewarded with beautiful views.
- The biggest irritant was almost comical. Every afternoon when we came back from the beach or our Dive BVI excursion, we would call the desk for a bucket of ice (as they specified in their guest info). Each time we would wait 30-40-60 minutes and no ice. We asked where the ice supply was, so we could just get it ourselves, but they wouldn't say. (We looked around, but couldn't find it.) Finally we decided to take turns walking back to the restaurant to get the ice bucket filled. It was a hot walk with little shade. Not a huge big deal, but was a marked difference from other resorts and hotels in the VIs.
