A little late to the party here, but my two cents, FWIW. We have stayed at BSV in the past and have to agree with Elizabeth (islandgem) that we were quite uncomfortable without A/C in the living room/kitchen areas. It was very hot and humid when we were there (I believe it was September) and I had to go cool off in the bedroom several times during the day. Yes, we do like our a/c. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> The other thing to be aware of is if you go with another couple, the back bedroom is much smaller and darker. DH and I had the main bedroom, but I would not have wanted to stay in the back bedroom. Also the planes going by overhead did not bother dh and myself, but they did bother the other couple we were with.
On a positive note, it was very nice staying right ON the beach. You're literally a stone's throw from the water.
