We did the deluxe all-day RtoH trip so we basically saw anything and everything along the way - from beaches to volcanoes to the homes of a few famous part-time Islanders. Tried to absorb A LOT of island history and some of it folklore. At least I now know what menahunies (sp?) are - the equivalent of leprechauns but more inclined to misbehaving. As we were being told the story I was enjoying the lore (history?) of the Hawaiian 'little people' and I will tolerate no comments from my grandchildren on this subject. The trip was 8.5 hours so a very long but fact-filled and interesting day.
We did see some surfers and even some turtles coming ashore along the way. A very good trip....... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />
