Same for us. Our story is we were naive and left tips beyond the bill until we ate at L'Estimenet and Carole actually said we were tipping too much that it was included in the bill. But I insisted on giving her $20 more. The end result was we never again in the years it was open had trouble getting a table at anytime, any evening even when full.

But I learned from her tip included and that any extra is a "pour boîte " translated "for a drink".
