Arrived yesterday on the AA flight out of Miami yesterday. Traffic to Miami was pretty good...but the damn rain for an awful drive. Thankfully it is only about an hour and half drive. Then the nightmare began....our flight was supposed to be leaving Miami at 11....but between it being late into Miami from Atlanta, then a delay to fix some problem...but after about an hour and half delay we were cleared to board. we all get onboard, and sure enough they are waiting for one passenger to come on. After quite a delay the capt tells us that the one frigin passenger decided to take another flight, and now they have to search the luggage to find that idiots bag to take off. Finally after about another hour they locate the bag and off we go..we thought!! Now taxied out we sit on the runway and find out that we are number 19 to take off, and they have to wait at least a twenty mile difference in between takeoffs because of the weather. Well...we finally take off at 3 oclock, almost three and a half hours late! Then the trip itself was the rockiest bumpiest expereince i ever had. And for a snack, AA now serves NOTHING but a drink!! Needless to say the plane full of passengers were not happy.
Finally arrive in SXM about 6...head to get my car from ACE, and off we go to Sharon's to get the phone. Thankfully those all went smooth... get to the Maho, check in for the one night, and were put in a fabulous room right in front of the hotel. Things are now starting to get better. <G> Wife and I are starved by this time, so we decide on Bajatsu for dinner. Once again, I had one of the best dinners I ever had. For all of u that go there, know how good it is...for others that havent been yet...put BAJATSU on your list of must eats!!!!!!!
Move over this moring to Royal Islander which we consider our second home. Found the place in better shape than ever, and all the landscaping it took last year after the storm is now huge. (one would never know that a year and a half ago a hurricane shut it down for six months!!!) Met up with a bunch of regulars around the pool today, and tonite heading over to Toppers for what I am hoping will be another great brisket event!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, buy the way, weather here today was fabulous, warm, and a nice breeze!!!
Yep, its good to be back home!!
