Another consideration, while Dawn Beach is a nice beach it is also more prone to seaweed as is Orient. Nobody can predict when seaweed might be an issue but it is almost always less prevalent at other beaches.

The island is not that big but you will have to drive longer distances to most activities if staying in the Dawn Beach area. As others have stated, it is rather isolated.
