Thursday was spent on Orient, at our favorite spot, Kakao. We love their central location, comfortable chairs, smiling faces, and excellent food. We started the day with our usual walk from end to end, and I was happy to see that GP had arrived and was setting up the bar….time for a Bloody Mary! After that we just settled into our chairs to soak up the atmosphere and people watch. The beach is so much cleaner than it was Tuesday, although there is still a fair amount of seaweed washing up. The Club O section of the beach is clean…I guess the currents are carrying the seaweed away from there. The storms did wash away a lot of sand in that area; the stairs to Pedros are completely exposed, and you can’t walk past Papagayo on the beach.

While we were there, we met Margie and John; Margie recognized us from our pictures on the forum. It was nice again, to put a face with a name.

Soon it was time for lunch, and of course our smiling waiter (I finally learned his name: Julien) was there for us. We started with a bottle of delicious Sancerre, and both ordered the day’s special: a seafood casoullet. Tender pieces of fish, scallops, shrimp, and mussels were nestled is a delicious cream sauce and baked to perfection. Rice was served alongside, with a spoon to make sure we could capture every tasty morsel. Of course, we had no room for dessert after cleaning our plates, but did enjoy a complimentary glass of mango rum.

Another walk of the beach, and it was nap time. After dozing for a while, we headed home, stopping at the Grand Marche in Cole Bay for a few essentials. Once home, our exhausted bodies (remember, last night was Red Piano night, and we’re old folks!) couldn’t rustle up enough energy to even eat dinner.

Today is another gorgeous morning, but as I’m determined to get to Grand Case for dinner tonight (we’ve been here two weeks and haven’t been yet), I think we’ll make it a pool day.
