Y'all this is the BEST cracker. It will bring beer drinking to a new level. A friend (who hails from Houma, Mississippi) gave us this recipe. It is crispy and spicy and has a taste that will make you crave these crackers. Great for a Super Bowl gathering. You can adjust the heat to your liking. I am not a fan of super hot food, but this is the bomb!
Hot Crackers
1 gallon jar with lid 1 box Zesta saltines (box that has 4 sleeves of crackers) 1 1/2 cups of a good extra virgin olive oil 1 pkg. dry ranch dressing 1 teasp. ground red pepper 1 teasp. ground black pepper 1 teasp. garlic powder 2 1/2 teasp. crushed red pepper
Wisk olive oil and all the spices together. pack saltines in the gallon jar Pour mixture of spices and olive oil over crackers. This is where the fun begins. Roll the jar back and forth about 7 minutes. (my husband and I roll the jar on the floor back and forth between us). Once all the crackers seem to be coated and the olive oil is gone, let set for a few hours and bon apetit.
This jar of crackers will disappear immediately, they are addicting. You can add more heat if you like by adjusting the amount of hot pepper spices. enjoy
Jo
