I would like to start out by thanking everyone who answered by question about tanning salons. I went for 8 visits and it really helped <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/thanks.gif" alt="" />
We had a free airline ticket so we didn't travel our usual way of Saturday to Saturday. This time we travelled Friday through Sunday. My wife wanted to spend a couple of nights in Anguilla.
Friday, 16th
We travelled from Newark to St. Maarten on Continental non-stop <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" /> We stayed at the Pelican. We had to switch rooms on Saturday. Friday we had a lovely one bedroom overlooking the Caribbean. We hated to give it up to a studio that was on the first floor. We stayed at the resort and ate at Captain's Cove in the Resort. Friday is lobster night and it was good. We rented a white Corolla <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> with Kenny's and saw Leslie. We met at the airport and everything went fine.
Saturday
We had to switch rooms at the Pelican. We drove to Dawn Beach and had lunch at Scavanger's. The ribs were good. Saturday night we ate at Hot Tomatoes.
Sunday
We went to Marigot and had breakfast at Zee Best. From there we drove to Le Meridan to check it out. Lovely beach there. After that we stopped at Orient Beach. I met a lovely lady there named Bonnie. Bonnie told me 3 things. 1, Take the Tiko Tiko Cruise, 2, have dinner at Bistrot Caraibes., and 3, stay at Club Orient. Well, we did 2 out of three. My wife surprised me and said lets do the Tiko Tiko Cruise. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Blush.gif" alt="" /> We booked the cruise that day and found out they could take us on Friday. That night we ate at Temptations. This is one of our favorite restaurants. We both had some kind of fish. We gambled at the Atlantis and we lost a little.
Monday
We took the ferry over to Anguilla. We stayed at the Arawak Beach House. Only about 8 rooms there. We liked it there. Went to Shoal Beach 2 days in a row. Had dinner at Zara's. We both had some fish.
Tuesday
Went to Shoal beach and had dinner at Hibernius. Both meals in Anguilla were fabulous <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />
Wednesday
Went to Scilly Cay, a little island right by our hotel, and had a great lobster for lunch. We heard that the lobsters are big there so we shared one. We took the ferry back to Marigot and had dinner at La Rosa in Maho. I had spaghetti and the wife had lasagna. Both were excellent.
Thursday
Now we know where Zee Best is in Simpson Bay we go there every morning. We went to Friar's Beach. Never went there before. It's a very lovely beach and had lunch there. On Bonnie's recommendation we go to Bistrot Caraibes. I had some shrimp and scallop dish and my wife had the red snapper. What a great meal. After dinner we walked up and down the street in Grand Case and decided to have dinner on Saturday night at Le Tastevin. So we made reservations for it.
Friday
I've been waiting for this day all week. I was looking forward to the cruise. Stopped at Zee Best for breakfast and drove to Club Orient. We met 5 other couples and went cruising. What a great day <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" /> We had a great group of people on the cruise. After the cruise we all stopped at Papagayo's and had a pina colada <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Cheers.gif" alt="" /> That night we ate at the Peg Leg Pub. I met Rural Carrier there. I met him last year at DK jewelers.
Saturday
We went shopping in Philipsburg. We visited DK jewelers again. I knew Deepti wasn't going to be there. We saw Jeff. If Deepti is the diamond princess my wife is the opal queen <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" />
We didn't have a bad meal. St. Maarten looked great. Made some new friends. I looking forward to return there. This was one of our best vacations.
