We made it! All those weeks and months of planning and dreaming have finally reached fruition and we are here, happily ensconced oceanside at the beautiful Beachside Villas.
We flew JB out of Newark for the first time and while the ride was a little longer it was far more peaceful than the trip to JFK typically is. It really helped that our driver knew the roads well and avoided the GW and all the other potential traffic situations. Check-in at EWR for the JB flights was, IMHO, a three ring circus but we made it. Flights were without incident.
Lesley and Shirley Bruce (Kenny’s Car Rentals met us at the airport with our car. Leona and Kim - eat your hearts out - we have your shiny red #69 for the next two plus weeks.
Jeannie had already been at the Villa and stocked all her goodies for us, and yes, it’s not an inexpensive add-on to a trip but so worth paying for this service. And she is such a sweetheart.
Spent the next hour or so unpacking and organizing then headed to the Spaghetti House at Jordan Village for our first island dinner. DH had clams with arugula over pasta and I had the beef carpaccio - both were delish and the owner, Katerina (mebbe Katrina?) but was her ever warm and welcoming self.
Home to BSV where DH ultimately had his first dish of Aetna Rhum Raisin and then off to bed.
Slept like babies to the sounds of the waves and here we are.

Welcome to OUR island, Peeps. I hope you’re able to enjoy it through our eyes!

Respectfully,

pat
