I was going to suggest the same, it is a great area to stay and has you out of the Simpson Bay traffic with easy access to both sides of the island. Lot also with in walking distance.
I would add that if you are going to rent longer term like you are stating many of the places would negotiate a better rate, never hurts to ask, they want their places rented not vacant.
Any idea how one would contact Puerto Cupecoy or Rainbow Beach Club? Are you talking on airbnb, or those places directly?
