We've had good luck renting villas on the hill behind Orient beach. Martinier Villa from gobeach.com may be what you are looking for. PM if you have questions. Very private, secure etc. The breeze tends to keep mosquitoes at bay.

We have stayed at Caribbean Salt (on VRBO & Flipkey) and are staying again in November. 2 Bedroom, 2 bath, very nice, clean pool, across the street from Kakao.
