Anyone have any favorite recommendations for a good moisture wicking sock for sailing in colder waters? Looking for recommendations to wear with sperry boat shoes that will help stay warm and dry.

mgeatens,

You may want to post on the BVI Talk Section for that question. A lot of the sailors on this board frequent there. Just scroll down or follow the link. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" />

Have spent a god deal of time on powerboats in Alaska and San Francisco area. "smart wool" socks are the best if you are concerned about keeping warm. No fiber keeps warm when wet like wool. The "smart wool" doesn't itch and is not bulky.

Darn Tough Socks from Vermont are another good choice in the " wool" category. Wool socks are the best at keeping you warm, regardless of the " wet" factor.
Wool fibers not only insulate, and wick, but they engage in a mutual cation exchange in the presence of moisture that actually generates heat within the context of the fabric itself.

NO matter what sox you wear, feet are going to be in Sperry boat shoes. Nice wool sox and sea boots.
