We've been on a couple, but it's been a few years. As far as cabins, just look at reviews of the ship for which are the best, although of course, prices on these cruises are much higher than on regular cruises for the same cabin. It used to be that if you booked a really cheap cabin early on, they would upgrade you for free as time got closer. However, at this point, you're really close in time to the current cruise, so that wouldn't apply.
