We walked down to Happy Bay yesterday, expecting to see Danny. He was not there and does not appear to be there today. Does anyone know if he is still cooking his ribs and chicken at his shack on Happy Bay?

Last week I saw people walk towards that end of the beach and come back with a beer...can't say I saw any food though.

He was there 2 weeks ago but we left before lunch time so I don't know if he was cooking ribs though his BBQ was heating...

Where do you all park when you go to Happy Bay? We discovered this great beach about 10 years ago and love it. But when we were there 3 years ago, we parked out by the main road and walked in through all of the abandoned houses and did not feel safe. We did this because we'd heard that if park at Frier's, you might get ticketed or towed.

We always park near the gate and walk all the way down to the beach! Never felt unsafe !More and more people are using this path so you are alone at all!

when we were there in early January, Dany told us that although he has all the ingredients, he may not start cooking until someone requests food...so if interested in food, make sure to ask him even if it doesn't look like any cooking is going on

We park at the 2nd parking lot right before Friar's (next to the recycle bins) and wander over the hill

FYI, we saw Danny yesterday after all. We were leaving our villa and driving toward Grand Case, when my wife realized that she forgot something. I turned around and drove back. Just as we were passing the entrance that most people use. Danny was exiting his car. He was just running late. Still there every day. We brought him a new Spurs jersey. He does cook a great lunch!
Happy Bay was more crowded than we have ever seen it. Of course, we are usually here in January and I understand February is always the busiest month. Just glad to be here now!

You can park on the blue line at the junction of Rue Happy Bay and Rue de Friar's Bay Voie 2 (park in the lot to the right of the gate). The other place to park is at the end of Rue de Friar's Bay. I wouldn't risk parking at Friar's Bay Beach Café.
