I wasn't alive yet in 1958 to see the airport pictures then, but I would say there have been major advances every 10 years to that airport. Then again, most airports have a lot of changes every 10 years. How quaint the island must have been in 1958.

Never saw it in '58 but I still miss the building in '80 and the blast of hot air as you stepped off a plane and walked to immigration . And the drive through Simpson Bay when all there was were colorful little houses and no traffic.

That's a pretty funny picture from 1958. My first time was 1987, and it was an interesting experience, especially not being able to rent a car at the airport. St Barts was also interesting - and still is.
