I wasn't alive yet in 1958 to see the airport pictures then, but I would say there have been major advances every 10 years to that airport. Then again, most airports have a lot of changes every 10 years. How quaint the island must have been in 1958.

Never saw it in '58 but I still miss the building in '80 and the blast of hot air as you stepped off a plane and walked to immigration . And the drive through Simpson Bay when all there was were colorful little houses and no traffic.

My first time was 1987, and it was an interesting experience, especially not being able to rent a car at the airport. St Barts was also interesting - and still is.
