We are here at The Towers, where we own in February and it has been very hot and muggy, but today was better and Mullet Bay is absolutely magnificent right now. Hard to leave the beach. Had dinner at Mario's last night after a long time away and we wondered why we have stayed away so long. Everything we had was absolutely delicious - it was easy to get a waterside table at 6:30. The island is very quiet - makes us sad for the locals. Staff at the Towers is as great as it has ever been and we always feel like we are being welcomed home. The casinos are much more quiet than we are used to in the winter but all of that is a nice chanage. Traffic is minimal except for the area around Sapphire and that road is treachorous. The Blue Mall is a monstrosity - hard to imagine how they will fill !00,000 Sq ft of retail space - it really looms over the road.

The new Grand Marche in Porto Cupecoy is my cup of tea, foodie that I am, and I am gathering some unusual items from France. Some of them are extremely expensive so I am picking and choosing. Unlike many on this site who have criticized this project - I think it is quite nice and look forward to having access to what it offers so close to Mullet. There is certainly no shortaage of food stores on this island now. The new US in Grand Case (not really Anse Marcel as has been reported) is just terrific.

Marigot is surprisingly busy, perhaps because of the new low Euro (1.20 today) Had a very nice dinner at La Rosa.

In spite of the low season and the shortage of income it may mean for many,. we have met so many wonderful, helpful local people. All in all, as nice to be here as ever and ways in which it is even nice this time of year.
